What are orthotics?
Orthotics are orthopaedic devices for shoes; designed to support, align, prevent or correct a condition, or to help enhance comfort and function. Orthotics can be over-the-counter products, such as cushioned heel cups or orthotic insoles; or they can be custom-made to meet your specific needs. Ziera come with inlays that offer cushioning and are moulded to support the foot. These provide adequate support for many people. Some podiatrists modify the Ziera inlay, customising it for their client. More commonly a new orthotic is specifically created for the client. When the Ziera inlay is removed, there is room within the shoe for the client's custom orthotic.
